Local Running and Trail Events 2010

It is possible to run 2/3 hours off road from here or even take to the cross-country ski areas for altitude training at 2000 metres. Along the country lanes you are unlikely to meet any traffic, only a troupeau of sheep.

I am a member of the local club with track training on Tuesdays and long Sunday morning runs. There are races most weekends, but do bring a medical certificate from your doctor.

www.izonkouru.com - this site gives a calendar of events in the Haute Pyrenees with up to date results and photos. Races here are well supported and the organisation is first class. Entries are mainly on the day so no wasted entry fees. On average costs are 10 euros maximum that includes a goody bag, t-shirt and snacks. Good depth of prizes for the race and a tombola with your number collected at the finish for up to 3000 euros of prizes.
