Are you..?
A bit worn down by working endless hours, trying to get it all done amidst
the hustle and bustle of the daily grind?
Or maybe you’re retired and now have time to spend with your family
and friends and want to do something just that little bit special?
Cycle the Pyrenees with us, or…
Revitalise the body and mind; experience cycling, golf
and tennis for an action packed activity
holiday in the French Pyrenees…
or relaaaax in the foothills of these beautiful Pyrenean
mountains; breathe in the pure air, take a leisurely ramble,
or rejuvenate yourself in one of our healthy spas and bring your senses
back to life!
What we’d like to do for you!
Peter and Hazel Gibbs specialise in guided Pyrenean
Cycling Holidays and would like to welcome you to their bed
and breakfast accommodation situated centrally in the foothills of
the Pyrenees. For all those golf
and tennis enthusiasts amongst you, Peter
would love to show you the stunning local golf
courses with scenic
views of the Pyrenees (some flat courses and some mountain
goat-like!) or tennis courts if using a racquet
is more your game. But we’re also here for those who want to slow
down, enjoy the sites, restaurants, spas (our local spa at Bagnere
de Bigorre has open air Jacuzzis on the roof!) and relax!
The scenery is stunning in all seasons, whether it is snow and skiing,
cycling the Pyrenean valleys with mountain views or climbing through silent
forests up to the summits. There is much to see and do whether its sport,
shopping in villages with old crafts or enjoying the regional cuisine.
So contact us now for your break
whether it be cycling, golf, tennis, skiing, rambling or relaxing.
About the bike riding; Col d’Aspin here we come!…
Living in the south of France and particularly in the
French Pyrenees, we have access to a range of traffic
free roads perfect for cycling that take you through
stunning scenery and quaint villages; all with the backdrop of the hills
and mountains.
The bike rides up to the summit of the cols are so quiet you could here
a pin drop if it wasn’t for your heavy breathing! My favourite climb,
the Col d’Aspin, is only an hour’s ride from
the house. Each time I go out, I see new sights and the weather paints
a different picture as the light changes every day. Cycling in the region
however gives you the option of easy valley rides as well as the strenuous
cols of the Pyrenees and I will be delighted to show you the peaks and
the troughs of all our local routes.
L'Etape du Tour on 6th July and
Le Tour de France 2008
During the Spring there will be training rides in preparation
for the L’Etape
du Tour which takes place on 6th July from Pau to Hautacam.
Why not join me and other local cyclists on these rides as there is no
substitute for local knowledge without map reading to slow you down. Refreshment
stops are different here to your local café but just as interesting.
All day cycle rides can include a lakeside lunch stop at a local auberge
for example, with a menu for only 10 euros. For that extra training session,
use our multi-gym and bike turbo. Call or
email us now and book your holiday or break here!
The Tour de France 2008,
has 3 stages in our region with a stage finish at Bagnere de Bigorre
on 13th July, the next day sees a mountain stage finish
at Hautacam, followed by a rest day. The 16th
July has a stage start at our local town of Lannemezan
5 minutes from the house.
